Meet Farah

I am Farah Antoine-Mayberry, founder and owner of Epiphany Birth Services, llc. I feel so blessed to bring my unique set of skills and experiences to the clients I serve. Since 2003, I’ve worked as an occupational therapist, gaining experience working with infants and families in the NICU, PICU, home health, and outpatient settings.

Working in the above-referenced capacities afforded me the opportunity to recognize the gap in communication and support that so often exists between the hospital world and the grassroots world. As a result of that “epiphany,” I transitioned into a career as a birth worker which includes being an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), a Birth Doula as well as a midwife’s assistant which affords me the honor of assisting families birthing in different settings.

I firmly and sincerely believe that expectant and new mothers deserve so much more support than most of them currently receive. My experience, coupled with my passion for families, contributes to the individualized care that I provide to my clients.

Listed below are a few of my fundamental beliefs concerning birth and lactation :
        •       How baby arrives matters
        •       Birth is a life-changing experience for both parents
        •       Expectant couples have the right to be educated about “all things birth and breastfeeding” in order to feel empowered with the decisions they make

      •       A couple’s birth story is a precious and lasting one
      •     Parents deserve a supportive village to assist with childbirth and feeding preferences

Although I have an extensive background in the health world, I believe in supporting a woman’s desire to naturally birth and nourish her child.

I am humbled to be able to serve as a midwife’s assistant to several reputable midwives: Taryn Goodwin, CPM with Spirited Birth Services, and Brandy Harris, CPM with Willow Birth Services. In the past, I’ve had the honor or working with Yvonne Silbernagel CPM with A Mother’s Love Midwifery (retired), Dawn Karlin, CPM with Bliss Birth Services (retired).

Please note that as of 2022, my doula and birth assistant services have been reduced as I have poured in a lot of my time into training doulas and serving marginalized communities. Feel free to check out Imani’s Village, Inc to find out more.

My husband and I are the blessed parents of 6 incredible children. Self-care activities for me include reading, watching movies, and spending time with family.

My role as your provider is to support your personal wishes and I’m honored for the opportunity to do so.
